Shekhar Kapur To Take 'Paani' Overseas

Darpan News Desk IANS, 23 Nov, 2015 10:53 AM
Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, best known for his award-winning films like "Masoom", "Bandit Queen" and "Elizabeth", says to make "Paani" a reality, he has to take it somewhere else.

"I tried to make it in India but turns out that it is not possible. So, I have decided to take it somewhere else," Kapur said on the sidelines of Film Bazaar.

The science fiction film, which will deal with water scarcity with Sushant Singh Rajput and Ayesha Kapoor in lead roles, has been shelved many times due to several reasons.

But it seems Kapur has made up his mind and will be turning to international producers to make the film.

The music of "Paani" is being given by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman.

Kapur shared the update about his film project after a session named "VR technology and new film narrative" at the annual film gala, which is held alongside International Film Festival of India.
