Shilpa Shetty returns to Kannada films after 18 yrs with 'KD - The Devil'

Mumbai, March 22 (IANS) Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra is all set to make a comeback in Kannada films after almost 18 years with the upcoming film 'KD- The Devil'.
Shilpa took to Instagram to announce the news on Ugadi.
Wrote the actress, who was born in Karnataka: "On this auspicious day of new beginnings, I'm thrilled to share with you a new character entering the war in KD's battlefield as Satyavati."
Shilpa made her acting debut with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Baazigar' in 1993. 'KD', directed by Prem of 'Kariya' fame, is yet another gangster film in Kannada.
The period action film is said to be based on the events that took place in Bengaluru in the 1970s. It also stars Dhruva Sarja, V Ravichandran and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, on the Bollywood front, Shilpa has 'Indian Police Force', an upcoming Hindi language cop action drama streaming series.
The series is created and directed by Rohit Shetty. It also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Vivek Oberoi in the lead. The series is set in Shetty's fictional Cop Universe.
Farhan Saeed, a former member of Pakistan's popular band Jal, has slammed Salim Merchant for copying his song "Roiyaan". However, the Indian singer-composer called it a "mere coincidence".
"We were shooting in London and he was doing commentary for the recent World Cup. I met him at that time. We had a very interesting conversation -- in fact we spoke for about two to three hours.
Actress Sara Ali Khan was all smiles in a throwback video while sharing the stage with Nita Ambani and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan during her graduation ceremony, which was also attended by her parents -- actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh.
In her latest photo, even though she looks cool in blue, a lot of netizens attacked her for resembling her father. They pointed out she looks like SRK's identical twin.
After "Badhaai Ho", it seems veteran actress is on winning streak. She recently won the Best Actress award at Indian International Film Festival of Boston (IFFB) for "The Last Color".
