Shirish Kunder unveils short film 'Kriti'

IANS, 22 Jun, 2016 01:02 PM
Film director Shirish Kunder unveiled his short movie "Kriti" starring Manoj Bajpayee, Neha Sharma, Radhika Apte, with actress Kangana Ranaut launching it on Wednesday.

"...I was very relieved, not thinking about box-office numbers, or the censors. We could have made whatever we wanted. In feature films when we think of something right and by the time we make it. Here you make something and it is out in 2-3 months," Shirish said at the launch.

Bajpayee said, "I always felt that internet is becoming wider and bigger and better. And that one should really explore and experiment with. 'Kriti' just happened, it was from a girl's point of view. I came with the idea of doing it for the portal and he immediately agreed and in five days we have the script ready. What a fantastic music he has given."

"Kriti" is an 18-minute short film in which Manoj is suffering from a psychological disorder, while Radhika, Neha play crucial roles with Manu Rishi also enacting a part. The film is for the online platform muvizz.com but has been uploaded on Youtube as well.

Neha said, "I am very honoured to be a part of this short film, with this bundle of talent that I am working with on this film. I don't really get roles that are so interesting very often so when I was offered this, I jumped at it.

The guest of honour at the event, Kangana said, "This film was such an intense experience. This is such an amazingly written, directed and performed piece of art. I am so happy that I am getting to launch a film made on a very big scale. I am happy that Shirish thought of something so progressive. I loved it, it is so spooky."

Shirish had previously directed 'Jaan-E-Mann' and 'Joker'.
