Sonu Sood Wants To Produce Entertaining Cinema

Darpan News Desk IANS, 20 Dec, 2016 11:10 AM
  • Sonu Sood Wants To Produce Entertaining Cinema
Actor Sonu Sood says he firmly believes that the main motive of cinema is to entertain, and wants to back projects high on entertainment factor as a producer.

Sonu is happy with the response that he got for his maiden production venture "Tutak Tutak Tutiya". He established his production house Shakti Sagar Productions in memory of his father.

"I thoroughly believe in entertaining cinema. Whether it is action comedy or a thriller film, anything that excites me as an actor or as a producer I would like to do that," Sonu told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

Directed by Vijay, "Tutak Tutak Tutiya", which will have its world television premiere on Zee Cinema on Sunday, stars Sonu along with Prabhudheva and Tamannaah Bhatia. It is a horror-comedy wherein a husband finds out that his wife is possessed.

Talking about the response he got for the film, Sonu said: "I think it was the first time that a film was shot in three different languages. The response from all the languages was very good, people loved it and the music was also a big hit.

"It is still playing in clubs. It is very encouraging as a first time producer. I think it was a good call to launch my production house on my dad's name with 'Tutak Tutak Tutiya'".

On the film front, Sonu will soon be seen in Indo-China film "Kung Fu Yoga" alongside Jackie Chan, and is also excited about Chinese film "Xuanzang" - China's official pick for the 89th Academy Awards.
