Sushant Had No Reason To Refuse 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Mar, 2015 03:58 PM
  • Sushant Had No Reason To Refuse 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!'
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who will be seen as a protagonist in Dibakar Banerjee's period drama "Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!", says he had no reason to say no to the film as he felt it would be a great learning experience -- and it was!

Primarily, it was the film's freshness that attracted the actor, apart from getting the chance to work under Banerjee's direction.

"I jumped at the idea of working in this film with Dibakar Banerjee and Yash Raj Films. Besides, when I read the script, I was convinced to do it as it has lot of newness," Sushant, who has worked with Yash Raj Films in "Shuddh Desi Romance", said here.

"Everything shown in this film is period correct. However, the way all the stuff has been shown in the film is new and very interesting and innovative as well. There was so much in this film that I could learn, so I had no reason to say no to this film," he added.

"Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!" is based on fictional detective Byomkesh Bakshy created by Bengali writer Saradindu Bandyopadhyay. It is slated to release on April 3.

The 29-year-old actor further said: "From the very first day I was sure about doing this character."
