‘The Kapil Sharma Show’: Kiku Sharda Says Alia Bhatt Was Not Offended By His Jokes

Darpan News Desk IANS, 11 Apr, 2019 09:02 PM

The ‘Kalank’ clan visited the sets of ‘The Kapil Sharma show’ on Monday to promote their upcoming period drama.

The multi-starrer cast actors Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur were seen having a blast during the shoot. The group spilled the beans on each other. Varun even cracked jokes about Alia.

Until media reports surfaced that a few of Kiku’s jokes did not sit well with Alia. Kiku asked Alia: “How does a scooter start?” and he replied: “Bhatt, Bhatt, Bhatt, Bhatt…”

Cracking another joke, he asked: “Is Mahesh Bhatt into construction business?"

Alia answered: “No”, to which Kiku said: “Then why did he make movies like 'Footpath' and 'Sadak'.”

The reports said Alia didn't enjoy Kiku's constant jokes on her. She was spotted repeatedly looking uncomfortable.

But, Kiku cleared the air. He said Alia was a good sport and had a lot of fun on the show. He said: “This is just a rumour. She enjoyed a lot on the show. I have no idea how this rumour started, but if you watch the episode, you will see how much she enjoyed on the show.”

He added: “Alia is a very sporting person and laughed a lot on the show.”

Several videos surfaced online from the sets of the show. The comedian host Kapil Sharma can be seen asking Alia to recreate Mughal-e-Azam using her Gully Boy persona.

Conceptualised by producer Karan Johar and his late father Yash Johar almost 15 years ago, ‘Kalank’ is an epic drama set in the 1940s.

‘Kalank’ is directed by Abhishek Varman.

The movie is scheduled to release on April 19.
