Unconventional Choices Bring Out Best In Me: Nimrat Kaur

  • Unconventional Choices Bring Out Best In Me: Nimrat Kaur
Not one to be scared of taking risks, actress Nimrat Kaur says she has "always been interested in unconventional choices" -- and she says they bring out the best in her.

"Whether it's here (western TV space) or in India, if there's something that catches my fancy as an audience, and if it is something that I'd like to watch, I'm not afraid to try it.

"I have always been interested in unconventional choices and I feel like they bring out the best in me and keep me alive,” Nimrat, whose work keeps her on her toes, told IANS in an email interview.

“So far so good, I have been very fortunate. So, it's just a question of how much more exciting can we get," added the critically-acclaimed actress, who has worked in films like “The Lunchbox” and “Airlift”.

Nimrat has even made her presence felt internationally after being associated with foreign TV shows like “Homeland” and Manoj Night Shyamalan's TV series "Wayward Pines".

Now, Nimrat wants to try her hand at comedy.

“I would love to do something fun. I haven't signed anything yet but I have also been away for a little while. I am really looking forward to going back and looking at material that I can pick up next to work on. It would be great to do a comedy or something light hearted,” she said.

The actress was paired with American star Jason Patric in "Wayward Pines", a series based on the eponymous novels by Blake Crouch, and developed for television by Chad Hodge.

The series, which was brought to the Indian small screen by Star World Premiere HD, stars Matt Dillon as Ethan Burke, a US Secret Service agent investigating the disappearance of two fellow agents in the mysterious small town of Wayward Pines, Idaho.
