'Very Small Gesture': Vivek Oberoi On Giving Flats To Kin Of Martys

Darpan News Desk, 14 Jul, 2017 01:30 PM
Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has donated 25 flats to the families of CRPF jawans killed in the line of duty and feels that this is a very small gesture for the sacrifices they make for us.

When asked about the motive behind giving flats to the martyrs' family, Vivek Oberoi told, "These people sacrifice everything to keep us secure and when they lose their lives in the line of duty, I think this is really small gesture for their family.

It is a humble gesture telling them that we are with you and your sacrifice is ultimate. But this was to make the families feel that they have a roof to call home. I really want to do such things for their family and share their sense of pain and honour at the same time."

The actor also shared his feelings about those who question every step that the Army conducts.

"Wear their shoes for one day. Go out and see if you can do a trip in naxal infested areas or in the sub-zero temperatures at the heights of Kargil and Siachen. It is very easy to point fingers at anyone and say they get paid for it. Go out for one day and then see if I pay any amount of money to you, will that be worth it for you," he said.

Vivek Oberoi will next be seen in an Amazon India's first original series titled ' Inside Edge,' which showcases the various facets like greed, ambition, corruption, and of course, cricket.

The series also stars Richa Chadha, Angad Bedi, Tanuj Virwani, Sidhhant Chaturvedi, Sanjay Suri, Sarah Jane Dias and Sayani Gupta.
