Bollywood star Akshay Kumar treated his fans and followers with the special glimpse of his upcoming movie, 'Gold'.

 

After releasing the poster recently, the new surprise element from the film underlines the significance of the independence day release. The promo shows how one man's dream led Britishers to stand up for Indian national anthem after 200 years.

 

The 'PadMan' star, who is all set to narrate the story of India's first gold medal post-independence at the Olympics, took to social media to share the special glimpse of the movie.

Earlier, the teaser traced the journey of a hockey manager and his dream to win the first gold medal for free India.

 
 
 

India won its first gold medal as an independent nation at the Olympics on August 12, 1948. The earnest ambition to win for the country after having played for the British for years is what makes this story special.

 

Written and directed by Reema Kagti, 'Gold' also stars Mouni Roy. The film is co-produced by Farhan Akhtar.

 

Marking the occasion of 70 years of free India's first gold medal at the 1948 Olympics, the film is set to release on August 15.
