When Sonal Chauhan felt like Rajput princess

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Aug, 2014 07:18 AM
  • When Sonal Chauhan felt like Rajput princess
Sonal Chauhan Thursday walked the ramp for designer Purvi Doshi at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014 and the actress says she felt like a Rajput princess in the showstopper's attire.

The "Jannat" star walked the ramp donning a sleeveless off white long skirt and top with mirror work all over it.

"I am a Rajput and I am feeling like a Rajput princess wearing this. I don't understand the technicality but I know this looks nice on me and I look beautiful in this attire," she said.

Purvi's collection was elegantly moulded in Indo-western silhouettes exclusively made in khadi.

The collection has beautiful incorporation of hues like orange, blue, red and green.

"I always wanted to promote the natural fabrics we have in our country. It is a beautiful way to progress. The collection is very close to my heart.

"My collection is of khadi and the embroideries are done from the villages in Kutch and other parts of Gujarat. I love tribes, mirrors and my collection is called Chavi as it's the reflection of our culture," said Purvi.

Her collection included Indian hand-embroidered mirrors which reflect the traditional work of our very own intricate craftsmanship.

Apart from khadi, African prints and Kutchi mirror embroidery were other important elements.
