Will Pooja Hegde Repeat History?

Darpan News Desk IANS, 14 Jan, 2017 03:00 PM
  • Will Pooja Hegde Repeat History?
With awards season buzz growing, everyone has been making their own lists of possible award winners this year.

The debut category has a rather strong contender this year with Pooja Hegde ,who despite the film's BO fate, made the industry stand up and take notice. This reminds us of two other actors who ended up making it big despite their debut film's BO - Kareena and Parineeti.

Says an industry analyst, "While in most cases, we've seen newbies recognized for their successful film debuts, we have seen standout cases like Kareena Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra won best debut awards inspite of their respective movies not doing well at the box office - Refugee and Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl .

Both films, much like Mohenjodaro, were also one of the most anticipated films of their respective years."

Can we expect Pooja to follow in Kareena and Parineeti's footsteps and make a clean sweep at the awards given all the appreciation she has received for her performance? Only time can tell us that. But for now we all know she seems to be a positive and strong front runner basis industry buzz and an audience favorite this award season.
