Working With Shoojit, Team Always A Pleasure: Big B

Darpan News Desk IANS, 01 Dec, 2015 12:48 PM
  • Working With Shoojit, Team Always A Pleasure: Big B
After giving an endearing story through “Piku”, Amitabh Bachchan has come on board for a social thriller, which will be produced by Shoojit Sircar. The megastar says it's “always a pleasure” to work with the filmmaker and his team.

He also added that the film will bring a “social message subtly weaved in an engaging story”.

Sircar along with his partner Ronnie Lahiri under the banner of Rising Sun Films has collaborated for the film, which will be directed by National Award winner Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.

The 73-year-old, who has worked with Sircar on several advertisements as well, asserted that he was drawn to the film by its engaging storyline.

“Working with Shoojit and his team is always a pleasure. When I heard this story, I was drawn to it immediately. It's got a social message subtly weaved in an engaging story. Being a part of such important stories satisfies me," Big B said in a statement.

Sircar, who has picked up his camera to capture nitty-gritty of political issues with films like "Yahaan" and "Madras Cafe", is on cloud nine with the union.

He said: “Aniruddha’s story was so compelling that I wanted to make this film immediately. We also wanted to make it in Hindi. Like me, given a chance, he would make all his films with Bachchan. Naturally he took the script to him and is both honoured and exhilarated that he has agreed. For us, it’s a brilliant start already.”
