  • 'Zanjeer' Clocks 42 Years, Big B Nostalgic
 “Zanjeer”, the film which gave megastar Amitabh Bachchan the tag of an 'angry young man', has completed 42 years.
 
Directed by Prakash Mehra, the 1973 action thriller featured Big B as police officer Vijay Khanna along with his wife Jaya Bachchan and late veteran actor Pran.
 
The 72-year-old, whose latest release "Piku" features him as an old man suffering from constipation, took to Twitter to thank his fans for loving the slice-of-life family entertainer. 
 
“'Zanjeer'...42 years of its release! 11th May 1973! The day of some consequence... May month excitement... PIKU May 8,” Amitabh tweeted.
 
In another post, he added: “Pranaam, Namaskaar and greetings for the affection shown towards PIKU.”
 
“Piku”, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan, explores the relationship between a father (Amitabh) and a daughter (Deepika). Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film released on May 8.
