Akshay Hated Doing Back-to-back Action Films

Superstar Akshay Kumar says that he would hate the feeling of going on the sets when he was doing back-to-back action films and that's why he considers it important to break away from genres.

At a promotional event for his next film "Housefull 3", Akshay was asked which is the most difficult genre and which genre he enjoys the most. "Obviously comedy is the most difficult. But I enjoy everything," he said.

"I just want to give away comedy for a while because how long can you do one genre. You can do it for 3-5 months, then you start getting bored of it. Like when I used to do a lot of action films, I used to actually feel bad about having to go every day and do action films. I needed a change," the actor added.

Akshay was known as an 'action star' during the 90s when he featured in action movies like "Mohra" and "Main Khiladi Tu Anari". But then he did "Hera Pheri" and many comedy films followed.

Recently, Akshay has showcased his versatility as an actor by doing content-driven films like "Holiday", "Baby", "Airlift" as well as comedies like "Singh is Bliing". After "Housefull 3", he will be seen in "Rustom" -- a serious story about a naval officer.
