Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who has completed a milestone of 500 films, has started shooting for his 501st movie.
 
The National School of Drama alumnus was only 28 when he took on the role of a retired middle class Maharashtrian man who had lost his son, in his debut film "Saaransh", directed by Mahesh Bhatt in 1984.
 
The 61-year-old, who did not share much about the upcoming film, has called his 501st film his "first post interval". 
 
"Shooting of my 501st film is in full swing. I am calling it my first film post interval of my career. So need your wishes for my first film," Anupam tweeted on Monday night. 
 
Anupam has starred in popular films like "Tezaab", "Ram Lakhan", "Chandni", "1942: A Love Story", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!", "Bend It Like Beckham", "Bride and Prejudice" and "The Mistress of Spices".
 
A theatre enthusiast and two-time National Award-winning actor, his career has been eventful -- with films, plays, TV and an acting teacher. He runs an institute called Actor Prepares.
