Bill Cosby Faces Criminal Charges For Alleged Sexual Assault

Darpan News Desk IANS, 02 Oct, 2015 12:20 PM
  • Bill Cosby Faces Criminal Charges For Alleged Sexual Assault
Los Angeles police have handed over report of a probe into a 2008 sexual assault allegation against comedian Bill Cosby to the Los Angeles county district attorney for possible criminal charges, a district attorney spokesperson said.

Model Chloe Goins previously said that in 2008, when she was 18 years old, Cosby gave her a drink that caused her to black out at a Playboy party. She later woke up half-naked with Cosby, she said, reports variety.com.

Cosby has denied being at the party at all.

Goins is one of many to speak out against Cosby and accuse the 78-year-old of sexual assault. However, her accusations are the latest, with many other allegations of sexual assault having been levelled against Cosby in the 1970s and 1980s. These are, however, unlikely to come up for prosecution because of legal restrictions.

The Los Angeles county district attorney previously dismissed a case brought against Cosby by Judy Huth, who accused him of raping her when she was only 15 in 1974, because the alleged incident happened before 1988.

At least 50 women have accused Cosby of varying degrees of drugging and sexual assault. On Wednesday, three more women - former waitress Sharon Van Ert and models Pamela Abeyta and Lisa Christie - came forward with new allegations of sexual assault and harassment against the comedian.
