Cliff Richard meets police, denies charges

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Aug, 2014 07:17 AM
Singer Cliff Richard, who "voluntarily" met the police, denies sex assault allegation against him.

Richard's property in Berkshire, South East England was searched by police last week in relation to the alleged sex offence involving a boy in 1985. He was not arrested or charged.

The "Summer holiday" hitmaker was "voluntarily" interviewed by police Saturday as part of the investigation, and while he "will continue to co-operate fully", he has reaffirmed his strong denial of the accusation, reports reports femalefirst.co.uk.

His spokesman said: "Sir Cliff voluntarily met with members of south Yorkshire Police. He was not arrested or charged. He co-operated fully with officers and answered the questions put to him.

"Other than restating that this allegation is completely false and that he will continue to co-operate fully with the police, it would not be appropriate for Sir Cliff to say anything further," added the spokesman.
