Donald Trump's Victory Stumps Hollywood

Darpan News Desk IANS, 09 Nov, 2016 12:32 PM
  • Donald Trump's Victory Stumps Hollywood
Hollywood celebrities like Cher and Chris Evans expressed disappointment, fear and disbelief over Republican Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election on Wednesday.

Trump was elected the 45th US President, defeating forecasters who had predicted Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton's win.

During their presidential campaigns, Clinton found immense support from celebrities from the American film world.

Here's what some representatives of the celebrity world had to say on the result of the polls:

Chris Evans: This is an embarrassing night for America. We've let a hatemonger lead our great nation. We've let a bully set our course. I'm devastated.

Shonda Rhimes: This many of you don't mind the body-part grabbing xenophobic man who says 'there's my black over there?'

Alec Baldwin: One thing that is changed forever in this country is the meaning of the word 'Christian' as it applies to politics.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson: I'm taking tonight to grieve for minorities, women, immigrants, muslims & the LGBTQ community but tomorrow I'm waking up ready to fight.

Cher: How did Trump get this far? He should be in jail and throw away the key. Maybe then he can grab his own p*ssy. Nothing is funny about tonight! Millions of women, POC, Muslim, and immigrants are scared sh**less. It shouldn't be this close.

Ariana Grande: Well this is utterly terrifying.

Shonda Rhimes: Uh, America?

Wil Wheaton: America, we are way too comfortable with racism, misogyny, and bigotry. I'm profoundly disappointed in us as a nation.

Brooke Burke-Charvet: We will face a deeply divided nation that may take a long time to heal.

Beau Willimon: We must get over our disbelief & dismay immediately. We use that energy starting tomorrow to prevent him from ruining the nation.

Kirstie Alley: People want jobs want good wages want fair and limited government want a cleaned up planet but mostly happiness.

Stephen Baldwin: God is moving and America is speaking! Praise the Lord.

Jenna Jameson: We are watching history being made.

Tila Tequila: Take a good look at what the right side of history looks like.

BOLLYWOOD CELEBS' MIXED REACTION TO DONALD TRUMP'S WIN

Bollywood celebrities came up with mixed reactions to Donald Trump's win in the US presidential election on Wednesday.

Here's what they had to say:

Ronnie Screwvala: Trump and Brexit is a wake up call to leaders. Are you listening/open to feedback, or just wrapped up in your own circle of rhetoric! Media and Pundits need to now do some more soul searching on getting the pulse right Vs own experts talking to experts. Older Gen = 40+ whose vote prevailed both times. Younger gen wants to lead world -- but older Gen is voting them out.

Ashoke Pandit: Congratulations Donald Trump for being elected as the 45th President of America with a great mandate.

Ram Gopal Varma: I predicted Trump's win and now my prediction is he will be greatest president ever. Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy will be forgotten.

Madhur Bhandarkar: Congratulations to Donald Trump for being elected the 45th POTUS through people's mandate.

Arjun Rampal: Oh Teri! (Oh my God) Yeh jeet gaya (he won). New president Donald Trump. Hope all visiting America have got their visas.

Shirish Kunder: Good thing about Donald Trump becoming President is that now we can use the same tweets for Indian and American politics.

Shekhar Kapur: Donald Trump 45th President of the United States! US Media is realising they no longer represent the opinion of the majority.

Abhishek Kapoor: America... breatheee... it's gonna be ok. Change is the only constant.

Vikram Bhatt: TRUMP, now the US has their own version of Brexit!!

Vishal Dadlani: Leaving NYC. Hoping to pass out on the plane, and wake up in London, to find that Trump was a horrific collective nightmare, but it's over.

Saqib Saleem: The world feels like a big social experiment! Brexit. Trump.

Sophie Choudry: One thing is for sure. It's not Obama who proved anyone could be president. It is Trump who has trumped them all!
