  • Dwayne Johnson Opens Up About Battle With Depression
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has revealed that he battled with depression as a teenager, after his mother's failed suicide attempt.

The 'Baywatch' star said he was 'devastated and depressed' as he opened up about his inner struggles.

"Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed," the 45-year-old told express.co.uk as he recounted the time when his mother Ata attempted suicide in front of him when he was just 15-years-old.

"She got out of the car on the Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic. Big rigs and cars were swerving out the way. I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road."

"She has no recollection of it whatsoever," he admitted. "Probably best she doesn't."

"I reached a point where I didn't want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly," the actor said.

"We both healed but we've always got to do our best to pay attention when other people are in pain. We have to help them through it and remind them they are not alone," he concluded.
