Ed Sheeran wants 'Game of Thrones' role

Darpan News Desk, 16 Apr, 2015 04:43 PM
Singer Ed Sheeran says he plans to "hound" the producers of "Game of Thrones" until they let him appear in the hit HBO show as he missed out on the chance to be an extra in the past.

"There were talks ages ago of me being an extra, which could have been cool. But every time they shoot it's the time I tour in Britain. But I've got that time off this year, so I'm going to hound them," he told The Sun Newspaper, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The 24-year-old singer would not be the first music star to appear on the show as Coldplay drummer Will Champion and Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody each had a cameo in 2013.

The pop star, who recently split from girlfriend Athina Andrelos, is hoping his friendships with Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, and Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, will help him to secure a role in the hit show.

He said: "If you watch the Glastonbury footage of my gig, Maisie's on someone's shoulders the whole time."

Meanwhile, Sheeran recently filmed scenes for an appearance as himself in the Australian soap "Neighbours" and has also made a cameo in the long-running children's show "Sesame Street".
