India's Adline Castelino gets crowned 3rd runner-up at Miss Universe pageant 2020, Mexico wins Miss Universe title

  • India's Adline Castelino gets crowned 3rd runner-up at Miss Universe pageant 2020, Mexico wins Miss Universe title

The 69th Miss Universe pageant took place  Sunday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

Miss Mexico took the crown of Miss Universe. Andrea Meza waived to the cheering crowd as she walked across the stage holding her boquet of flowers. There were a total of 74 contestants. 

The 26-year-old Meza was crowned by former Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa, who won the pageant in 2019.

After 2 decades, India's representative Adline Castelino made it in the Top 5 and Castelino was crowned 3rd runner up of the night. 

Castelino took the stage with poise and elegance and carried herself with grace in all different looks through the night. Congratulatory remarks poured in for the Miss India over Twitter.

Miss Universe-Miss India

While Brazil's Julia Gama, 28, emerged the runner-up, Janick Maceta came in at the number 2 spot.

The 3 hour competition was hosted by Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo.

This is the 3rd Miss Universe victory for Mexico.
