Jennifer Lawrence cried because she was afraid to sing

  • Jennifer Lawrence cried because she was afraid to sing
Actress Jennifer Lawrence was so afraid to sing in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” that she “cried a little”.

Director of the film, Francis Lawrence told The Radio Times magazine in an interview how the Oscar-winner did not want to sing “The Hanging Tree,” a song introduced in Suzanne Collins’s “Mockingjay” book, reports vanityfair.com.

“She was horrified to sing, she cried a little bit in the morning before (the scene)... She’ll probably tell you it was her least favourite day (on set),” the filmmaker said.

Even though Jennifer Lawrence sang in a previous “Hunger Games” instalment, the “Deep in the Meadow” lullaby to Rue, the filmmaker also revealed that the actress is insecure about her voice.

“She’ll probably never really understand it because she’s so sensitive about the singing, but she did it and she did it all day... and she hated me for making her do it all day, but she did and it’s great.”
