Police Found No Physical Evidence Of Abuse In Amber Heard's Case

Darpan News Desk IANS, 28 May, 2016 12:58 PM
  • Police Found No Physical Evidence Of Abuse In Amber Heard's Case
Despite actress Amber Heard's detailed statements and a testimony from her best friend, police found no evidence that Johnny Depp had physically assaulted the actress.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said they were called to the couple's home, where they conducted an investigation and came to a conclusion that there was no crime happening, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"On May 21, police responded to a domestic incident radio call," LAPD officer Jane Kim told usmagazine.com in a statement.

"The person reporting did not insist on a report nor was there any evidence provided by the victim that warranted a report. Officers conducted an investigation and determined that a crime did not occur. The officers cleared the scene and left a business card," Kim continued.

Meanwhile, LAPD Sgt. Marlon Marrache told people.com that "if there had been any signs of abuse, officers would have conducted an investigation, regardless of what Heard said had happened".

He added that the 911 call was made at night but they were not sure who made the call.

"It could have been the neighbour or it could have been her. The police and her were at the scene. He (Depp) wasn't there," Marrache said.

Heard emerged from a court on Friday with a bruise under her right eye. She claimed in her documents that Depp threw an iPhone at her face after a heated argument.

Her neighbour and close friend Raquel Rose Pennington also claimed that she saw Depp picking up "a magnum sized wine bottle and began swinging it like a baseball bat," adding that he "smashed everything he could".

Depp's lawyer Laura Wasser filed an opposition to the restraining order on her client's behalf, saying, "Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse."

His legal team did not comment on the domestic abuse allegations.
