Darpan News Desk IANS, 10 Apr, 2015 01:14 PM
Actress Scarlett Johansson is reportedly Universal Pictures' top choice to star in its long-in-development remake of the 1954 monster horror 3-D film “The Creature from the Black Lagoon", reports aceshowbiz.com.

The original movie, which starred Julia Adams, revolves around a group of scientists who discover a dangerous pre-historic creature that is part human and part fish while they are on an expedition on the Amazon river.

The studio has been in the process of reviving their Monsters properties and creating a shared universe for them. Screenwriters Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan have been hired to head the crossover project.

Some of the classic monsters which are going to be brought to life include The Mummy, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Invisible Man, and Bride of Frankenstein.
