Sony Scraps 'The Interview' Release, Charles Chun Disappointed

  • Sony Scraps 'The Interview' Release, Charles Chun Disappointed
Sony Pictures Entertainment has officially pulled the plug on the Christmas release of the much-anticipated film “The Interview”, and the most disappointed person with the declaration is Charles Chun, who plays General Jong in the movie.

“I cannot speak for everyone, but my sense is that we made a great film, we had so much fun doing it, audiences loved it at the preview and it is very disappointing that audiences who we made the film for are not going to be able to enjoy it the way it was intended,” radaronline.com quoted Chun as saying.

Sony released a statement following reports that North Korea was, indeed, responsible for the hacking. It read: "Those who attacked us stole our intellectual property, private emails, and sensitive and proprietary material, and sought to destroy our spirit and our morale - all apparently to thwart the release of a movie they did not like."

On Wednesday, Sony bosses confirmed that there are no plans to release the film, in any format, ever.

“I feel like this is North Korea’s fear intimidating our freedom and I hope we as an entertainment community and as a free society learn the lessons to really protect our free way of life so that we are not intimidated again,” Chun said.
