Singer Taylor Swift has shared that her mother Andrea Swift has been diagnosed with cancer.

The 25-year-old wants to keep "the details of her condition and treatment plans private," and has urged fans to remind their parents to get some medical check-up for early diagnosis, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"I'm saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I'd like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know," Taylor posted on Tumblr.

Since sharing the news, both Taylor and her mother have received outpouring of support from both fans and celebrity friends.
