Twitteratti Want Captain America To Turn 'Gay'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 May, 2016 11:04 AM
“Captain America” fans on micro-blogging site Twitter have urged Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to give the fictional superhero, played by actor Chris Evans, a boyfriend.

Using the hashtag “#GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend”, some fans paired Captain America with his best friend James "Bucky" Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan) while others paired him with Iron Man, essayed by Robert Downey Jr, reports aceshowbiz.com.

One fan wrote: “#GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend and a kiss under the rain, and a wedding, and a millionaire who loves him no matter what because it's worth it.”

Another said: “#GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend is needless. He already has Bucky.”

Evans isn't opposed to the idea of romance between Captain America and Bucky.

“That wouldn't be so bad,” Evans told entertainment website Flickering Myth.

“It's just never been part of my approach to the character. My subtext didn't involve that dynamic. I think even with the first Captain America film you see how drawn he is to Peggy Carter... I thought I put all that in the final scene, but maybe I didn't. Maybe I was just gazing at Sebastian too much,” he added.

The campaign came three weeks after fans were urging Disney Studio to give "Frozen" character Elsa a girlfriend.
