Vin Diesel Says Fast 8 Will Win Big At the Oscars

  • Vin Diesel Says Fast 8 Will Win Big At the Oscars
Actor Vin Diesel says with F Gary Gray as the director, the eighth Fast and Furious movie will have a chance to win at next year's Academy Awards.

Vin, while promoting his next film, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, told Entertainment Tonight, "I think he went into making this movie with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, going 'Oh, really? OK. Now I'm going to take the biggest saga in the world, and I'm about to throw Oscars at you.' Wait till you see what he does',"

"Fast and Furious 8 is different. It's very dark. My character is conflicted in a way that is really going to shock you. He's coming off of a lot of emotion from 7 and the loss that 7 represents," he said.

The movie is not coming to theaters until next year but the 49-year-old actor promised fans in New York City could expect to see the first trailer before Christmas.

"December 11, every screen in Times Square will be playing the trailer, and it's going to hit you like a ton of bricks," he added.

Fast and Furious 8 is set for an April 14, 2017 release.
