Groove to the sounds of Indian Standard Time (IST)

Main Stage at Surrey Arts Centre02 Nov '18 @ 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Surrey Civic Theatres is presenting a live performance of BC’s first ever Indo-Canadian Intercultural Band - Indian Standard Time (IST) on Friday November 2nd, 2018 at 8pm - Main Stage at Surrey Arts Centre – Surrey BC.

What would have happened if Bob Marley had spent time soaking in the musical traditions of Delhi? Or if the members of Canadian rock legend Rush had fallen in love with the ancient traditions of ghazal and light classical Indian music?

Enter Indian Standard Time, an electrifying collective of musicians from Canada, India, Malaysia, and the UK. Indian Standard Time dances with North Indian classical traditions and yet defies description—an alt/jam/prog/funk/reggae/Indian fusion band creating a live experience unlike any other.

The members of Indian Standard Time are Dr. Bruce Harding (flute, vocals, guitar, and bass), Sandy Khaira (drums, percussion, and bass), Coach Sandhu (guitar), Amarjeet Singh (tabla), and Baljit Singh (sarangi, dilruba, esraj, tar sehnai). All of them teach and work at the Naad Foundation, an Intercultural Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts in Surrey.
