Million Dollar Quartet

Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage11 May '17 to 09 Jul '17 @ 7:30 PM - 10:30 PM
  • Million Dollar Quartet
Inspired by true events, this rocking jukebox musical takes you into Sun Records Studio on December 4, 1956, to witness the famed recording session from producer Sam Phillips (Graham Coeffeng) that brought together rock and roll legends Elvis Presley (Erik Fraser Gow), Johnny Cash (Jonas Shandel), Jerry Lee Lewis (Steven Greenfield), and Carl Perkins (Kale Penny)—for the first and only time. Experience all the hits that made these powerhouse stars the icons they are today, including “That’s Alright,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” and more!

Director Bill Millerd says, “There is an infectious quality to this show, with well-known tunes and a terrific cast. It’s also a great asset to have Zachary Stevenson as musical director as he is an expert in the music of this time period.”

“I sometimes think I was born in the wrong era,” jokes Stevenson. “Fortunately for me, there are records. And Sam Phillips made some of the best of them. He seized his opportunity of being in the right place at the right time, recording the best of what Memphis’ diverse music scene had to offer. More than anything else, he captured the spirit of these pioneers and immortalized them on vinyl ‘where the soul of a man never dies.’”
