Big Sister – A one woman show about sisters

Revue Stage06 Sep '18 to 16 Sep '18 @ 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM
A comedy about the relationship between two sisters and what happens when one of them changes, Big Sister explores a world of evil siblings, fat shaming, and unlikely collaboration.

Big Sister is the true story of older sister/actor Naomi Vogt's 70 pound weight loss, written through the perspective of younger sibling/writer Deborah Vogt. It's the most honest, vulnerable piece of art either sister has created. It delves into aspects of their relationship they have been too scared to talk about in person and so, instead, have decided to use theatre as a means to break the barrier.

Collectively, this creative team has lost over 200lbs. Their words about weight are based on real life pain, strength, and catcalls.

Written by Little Sister Deborah Vogt, book writer for Pick of the Fringe winning musical Carry On. Performed by Big Sister Naomi Vogt, fresh off her debut at the Caravan Farm Theatre. Directed by Jamie King, the recipient of the 2017 Ray Michal Prize for Most Promising New Director at the 2017 Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards.
