The 2016 Vancouver Sun Run Entertainment line up announced

The Vancouver Sun Run is pleased to announce a full line up of entertainment for participants to enjoy again this year. Local bands, dancers and cultural programming will align the Vancouver Sun Run route for people of all ages to enjoy. The 32nd annual Vancouver Sun Run presented by BlueShore Financial is scheduled for Sunday, April 17th and for the first time in The Sun Run’s history, registrants will receive an exclusive hydrolyte technical running shirt with moisture wicking control. Also new for 2016, every registrant will be able to customize their bib to include their name.

“Creating a festive atmosphere along the Vancouver Sun Run route is extremely important to us,” said Patricia Wu, Co-Chair of The Vancouver Sun Run. “We hope everyone enjoys the programming we have chosen for this year’s event.” 

This year’s line up includes local acts, the Neurotics performing at the event’s Main stage at Georgia and Burrard as well as returning favorites Bad Motor Scooter and Top Line Vocal Collective to name a few. The BC Regiment Band will perform in front of the Seaforth Armory and the Spakwus Slulum / Eagle Song Dancers will represent the Squamish Nation located at Fir and 2nd. Virgin Radio's DJ Flipout will headline the free Vancouver Sun Run Post Race Party. DJ Flipout has been on the air at Virgin Radio for over a decade mixing the “Traffic Jam” live every weekday at 5 O’clock. Flip has toured extensively throughout Canada and internationally he’s played in New York, Spain, Australia, and Puerto Rico. The post race party will also feature performances by the Harbour Dance Team, Korean Drum band Modni and the Vancity Bhangra Dancers.

Less than 10 days remain until the race but Individual registrations are being accepted until the final registration deadline of Saturday, April 16. Online registration deadline is midnight, Tuesday, April 12.

Register for the Individual 10K and The Shaw Mini Sun Run in person only April 15 and 16 at The Sun Run Fair at BC Place Stadium. This is also the location for this year’s race package pick-up and Sunday’s Wrap Party. 

The times of The Sun Run Fair are:

Friday, April 15 – 10 a.m. – 7 p.m, Saturday, April 16 – 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Registration Fees

Individual 10K: 

$56.00 (plus GST), $65 Sun Run Fair rate all inclusive

2.5K Shaw Mini Sun Run (until March 31):

$28 plus tax (Youth), $38 plus tax (Adults)
