How did you meet?

Sim: We met through a mutual friend that Justin went to school with and later that same friend began working with me and we became good friends. One day she approached me at work and mentioned how she knows someone that she would like me to meet, and that we would be a great match. At first, I was a bit sceptical and hesitant but later grew warmer to the idea of meeting him. A few weeks later Justin made the first move and asked me out for dinner. When he came to pick me up for our date we instantly connected with no dull moment. It had felt like the evening had come to an end rapidly. From that day on we knew we were meant to be.

What do you love most about one another?

Justin: I love how selfless, loving and compassionate Sim is towards me and people around her. She is always ready to help out anyway she can. She always has a positive outlook on life no matter what the situation is, which keeps me grounded.

Sim: I love how he is so down to earth and spontaneous. Never a dull moment! He always makes me laugh and never fails to put a smile on my face.

Could you share your proposal story?

Justin: I called Sim when she got off work one day and told her to get ready for dinner. I took her to the location of our first date. She had no idea that I was going to propose. When we arrived at our destination, we went for a beautiful walk by the water and admired the sunset and boats cruising by. There I began to reminisce about our first date and bringing up memories from that day. Then I got on one knee and popped the question. She was totally caught off guard!

Describe your wedding day. What was your favourite moment?

Justin: On the day of the wedding, I woke up with a sense of excitement. My favourite moment from our wedding was when I finally got to see Sim as we could not see each other two weeks prior to the wedding, and another favourite was officially being married!

Sim: The morning of my wedding went by very smooth and calm. Everything and everyone was on time and on schedule. My favourite moment from the wedding day was obviously seeing Justin and secretly exchanging quick glances with each other at the altar. Our awesome photographer/videographer, Studio 55, very efficiently captured all the special moments. The team made Justin and I feel super comfortable during our pre-shoots to the entire wedding week.

Could you tell us about your reception?

A: Our reception was finally a time where we both could have a good time and relax knowing that most of the major events were done! We went with a silver and white décor with a touch of crystal, which turned out beautifully. The DJ kept it coming with awesome music to keep us and the guests pumped.

Can you describe your outfits?

Sim: For the wedding, we chose the colours royal blue, navy blue and bright red. The achkan was purchased from India along with all the accessories. My lehenga was purchased from Made in India (Surrey). To finish my wedding look, I purchased all of my morning accessories at Gehna. Both of our evening attires were custom made and purchased locally.

Where did you honeymoon?

A: We didn’t leave on our honeymoon until one month later as we wanted to spend time with all our out of town guests. We decided on Mexico since both of us had never been there. We stayed at the amazing Secrets resort in Cancun that spoiled us and catered to all our needs. Definitely well enjoyed!

What are your goals as a couple?

A: Our goal for the next couple of years is to travel around the world and experience new cultures and customs.

What are the strengths of your marriage?

A: Our greatest strengths in our marriage are good communication and compromise.

If you could provide any advice to other married couples, what would it be?

A: The advice we would give to other married couples would be to always have good communication with your partner. Be open and straightforward about things or situations as it surprisingly brings you closer and keeps the trust built for eternity.
