A true local, Dr. Jeevan Gill was born and raised in Surrey but decided to pursue dentistry in what some would think an unconventional pattern. After completing his first year of undergraduate studies in Canada, Dr. Gill moved to India to pursue a Bachelor’s in Dental Surgery. This experience was not just academically rewarding but also gave him a unique perspective of dental practices around the world and across different cultures. Upon returning to Canada, he successfully demonstrated his expertise by passing rigorous equivalency exams, eventually earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Dalhousie University in 2006.
For a decade after, Dr. Gill worked as an associate dentist in Burnaby, an experience that led him to fulfill his dream and take the next big step—entrepreneurship. His first clinic, Radiant Dental Panorama, opened its doors to the community in 2016 and soon became known for its extensive and advanced approach to dentistry. “We want to make sure we help surrounding communities with all their oral healthcare needs, all the way from dental education to surgical procedures,” says Dr. Gill.
For him, opening his first office was just the beginning. Now, with his second office coming up in Clayton, he aims to expand even further to serve more communities with modern dental medicine. Radiant Dental Clayton provides top-notch family dentistry services alongside modern surgical procedures like full-mouth rehabilitation, wisdom teeth removal, Botox treatments, and dental implants. Notably, Dr. Gill teaches advanced courses in dental implants at multiple institutions across British Columbia and Alberta. Both Radiant Dental clinics boast the latest technology, including cone beam scan machines, digital scanners, and printers, helping them provide precise and effective treatments always.
Dr. Gill’s approach to modern dentistry is deeply rooted in patient education, ensuring that every patient who enters through Radiant Dental understands their treatment options and the importance of oral hygiene. “I can positively say that our success comes from making sure that our patients feel heard and they make informed decisions through the well-rounded education we provide,” he says with pride.
Dr. Jeevan Gill’s South Asian background plays an important role in his outlook towards dentistry. With his time in India and practice in Surrey, he understands well the unique challenges and hesitations some South Asians may have regarding modern dentistry. He uses this insight to connect to his patients on a deeper level, nurturing a healthy and comfortable environment for everyone, “With the benefit of starting out in India and then being a part of the community here, I think I’ve been able to be a strong bridge between people and their dental treatments.”
Not only through his dental practice, but Dr. Gill also passionately advocates for community service through active participation in various organizations. He is actively involved with organizations like KidsPlay, the Surrey Hospitals Foundation, and local food banks. Through his strong commitment to charity, he strives to give back to the community that has constantly supported him.
For South Asians who see their future in dentistry, he advises, “If you’re motivated to pursue it, put in the hard work and go for it. If I can make it through and be successful, you can too.” Both Radiant Dental clinics offer volunteer programs for individuals interested in dentistry in the future.
With the opening of Radiant Dental Clayton, Dr. Gill is excited about the future. Sensing a growing need for advanced oral health care in the community, the decision to set up his second office in Clayton aims to provide residents with exceptional dental care closer to home.
