Making of Katiyabaaz

Katiyabaaz is a multi-award winning film, directed by Deepti Kakkar & Fahad Mustafa, that highlights the issues of power-cuts and electricity theft in the city of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, through eyes of several different people, most notably that of Loha Singh, a local katiyabaaz who, with an almost vigilante like attitude, steals electricity for the locals of the town.

 

Winner of the Best Film award at the Mumbai Film Festival, as well as a National Award for Best Investigative Film in 2013.
