DARPAN Awards had the honour of bringing to you, Anuradha Koirala a true fighter with the sole mission of rescuing and protecting women and children from human trafficking. 
 
Anuradha Koirala, lovingly called 'Dijju' (elder sister) is an advocate of human rights committed to protect women, girls and children from crimes like sex trafficking, domestic violence, child prostitution.
 
Since 1993 her organization 'Maiti Nepal' has rescued over 30,000 females from abuse and has convicted more than 1200 traffickers.
Maiti Nepal has been positively impacting lives of thousands of women & girls by providing skills-training, counselling, legal aid, medical assistance and also a safe shelter.
 
"Think of your daughter, and you will feel the pain and sorrow in your heart." said Anuradha at DARPAN AWARDS 2014.
 
"This award does not make me proud", she said "it reminds me that this problem (sex trafficking) exists and i need to fight for it. I need your support so join hands (with me) to fight this crime against humanity"
