  • RCMP In Langley, B.C., Arrest A Man Who Jumped The Aldergrove Border Crossing
LANGLEY, B.C. — Mounties have arrested a 49-year-old man from Langley, B.C., who allegedly jumped the boarder between the United States and Canada.

Police say two men on separate motorcycles attempted to cross through a ditch near the Aldergrove border crossing on Thursday afternoon.

One of the men was arrested near the border, but the second was able to get away and took off north.

The suspect was followed in the air by the RCMP's Air One chopper to the Willowbrook mall in Langley, about 23 kilometres away.

Police say the suspect abandoned the motorcycle, which was discovered to have been stolen from Abbotsford and had stolen plates from Surrey.

Mounties say the man, who was previously known to police, was found in a vehicle several blocks east of the mall and taken into custody.
