A reported firing incident outside the farmhouse of Gurpartap Singh Kang, manager of Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, in Gonder village of Haryana’s Karnal district has sparked controversy, even as police say no clear evidence of an attack has been found so far.
According to sources, unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire outside Kang’s residence late Tuesday night. Police recovered one or two empty cartridges from the spot during an investigation on Wednesday. However, no FIR has been registered, and Kang’s family has not filed any complaint.
A social media post allegedly linked to members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang — Tyson Bishnoi, Aarzoo Bishnoi, and Hari Boxer — claimed responsibility for the firing, describing it as a “third warning” to Diljit Dosanjh and his management team. The post also issued threats and alleged misconduct by a member of the singer’s team during an Australia tour.
However, Haryana Police officials have neither confirmed the authenticity of the viral post nor established any link to a gang. Police officials said there were no eyewitnesses, while some villagers claimed they did not hear gunshots during the night.
SHO Krishan Kumar reportedly stated that an extensive probe found no evidence confirming that any firing had taken place. Former village sarpanchs and local residents also described the reports as rumours, saying the family itself was unaware of any such incident until police arrived.
