Akshay's Punjabi Jokes Helped My Performance: Sidharth Malhotra

Darpan News Desk IANS, 11 Jun, 2015 01:13 PM
  • Akshay's Punjabi Jokes Helped My Performance: Sidharth Malhotra
Actors Sidharth Malhotra and Akshay Kumar will be seen locking horns in Karan Johar's production "Brothers", directed by Karan Malhotra. But despite the intense combat sequences in the movie, the mood on the sets was light and fun-filled.

Sharing his experience of shooting with Akshay, Sidharth said: "Being on the set with Akshay sir is like being in a Punjabi joke book. He constantly cracked jokes, including a lot of non-veg jokes, which I obviously can't share."

Sidharth is a Punjabi himself, but he's not fluent in the language.

"Despite being a Punjabi, I never spoke Punjabi. So, I learnt a lot of Punjabi from Akshay's vocabulary."

There's more that he learnt.

"I learnt a lot from the way Jackie Shroff, Akshay and other senior technicians conducted themselves on the sets. There was serious anxiety and nervousness for me since it's just my fourth film. But Akshay sir had a big hand in lightening the mood during the intense fight sequences with his Punjabi non-veg jokes which certainly helped my performance," said Sidharth.
