The 27-year-old actress is co-producing the film with Fox Star Studios. She will be sharing screen space with singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh and Suraj Sharma, of the "Life of Pi" fame.

The tweet from the page of Yash Raj Film Talent, which is followed by the official account of actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, stated that the shooting has started.

"And so it begins! 'Phillauri' with Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh! Who's excited?" read a tweet on the page.

The movie has been tagged as an uncommon romantic film set in Phillaur, Punjab. It will be directed by debutant Anshai Lal.
