  • Dilip Kumar Fit, Fine, Says Doctor
Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was hospitalized for a few days due to ill-health, was discharged on Thursday and his doctor says that he is fit and doesn't require bed rest at home.

"Dilip Kumar ji's health has improved quite a lot and has come back to normality. We sent him home because of his remarkable improvement, both clinically and radiologically, and because all reports of the lab investigations have come out well," said Dr Jalil Parkar of Lilavati Hospital, where Dilip Kumar was hospitalized on Saturday morning.

Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu, who had accompanied him to the hospital, was seen escorting him home in a car. He was suffering from pneumonia, lung infection and had experienced fever and vomiting, according to doctors.

"The 94-year-old is fit, fine and roaring. He has been advised proper precautions according to his age. And the medicines that have been going on since before, have been given to him with the dose adjusted," Parkar said.

"There was no bed rest advised to him, he can freely move around and do his daily activities," he added.

Dilip Kumar is considered a legend of the film industry, having been conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan for his brilliant work in films like "Mughal-e-Azam", "Devdas" among others.
