Parineeti Chopra Wants 'Spa-like' Personal Spaces At Her Abode

Darpan News Desk IANS, 02 May, 2016 12:27 PM
Actress Parineeti Chopra says she prefers to keep her “personal spaces very spa-like with a lot of wooden textures and mirrors”, which exude “soothing” vibes.

In an exclusive feature from the Architectural Digest India, the actress has shared her idea about buying a sea-facing Bandra house here and how she did the interiors. The feature -- written by Gauri Kelkar -- is slated to appear in the May-June 2016 issue of Architectural Digest India, which will hit the stands on May 5.

She has paid attention to each and every details from the key holder that spells out "drama queen", the miniature guitar or the bike replicas hanging on the wall. The “Ishaqzaade” star looked at nearly 30 houses before she found the Bandra one, read a statement.

She said: “I always wanted a sea view. (The interiors) weren’t really to my taste, but when I stood in the balcony and saw the sea, I knew this was it. This was my house.”

The cousin of internationally acclaimed star Priyanka Chopra added: “I had references for years on my phone...from all my travels, hotel stays, artworks. There are so many ideas I picked up from something I’d seen on a street. I basically wanted a white house with colours in it.”

Talking about her personal style, she said: “My personal spaces had to be very spa-like ... a lot of wooden textures, mirrors, a very soothing, ‘scented candles’ kind of scene. And I wanted my living and den areas to be lively. Some of it was quite tricky, but it was fun tricky.”

For Parineeti, the one thing that was of paramount importance throughout the house was comfort.

“Every piece of furniture here is sleepworthy,” she said.

The actress, who made headlines recently for her dramatic weight loss, will be soon seen in "Meri Pyaari Bindu" opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
