Quality Important Over Numbers For Home Banner: Madhu Chopra

Darpan News Desk IANS, 01 Jan, 2017 07:27 PM
  • Quality Important Over Numbers For Home Banner: Madhu Chopra
Actress Priyanka Chopra's mother Madhu, who has stepped into film production with their home banner Purple Pebble Pictures, says quality of movies is more important for them than generating revenue at this point, especially when it comes to regional cinema.

After Marathi film "Ventilator", Priyanka's banner has come up with Punjabi film "Sarvann".

Madhu told IANS: "I am very practical as a producer. I just execute what Priyanka says. So for me, making a film is a very clinical effort. I am not putting a number to our film, but I can assure you that the quality of the films is very good."

"Having said that, the moment we entered into investing into regional films, we didn't think about the recovery at all. It has been a satisfying journey so far because the critics have appreciated our work. For the moment, we are only looking at that and the revenue has also been great so far, by god's blessings," she added.

Madhu is currently busy promoting "Sarvann", which features Amrinder Gill along with Ranjit Bawa and Simi Chahal. Directed by Karaan Guliani, it is a story of a young NRI returning to India to find his roots.

As a banner, Madhu said they are looking relatable and content-driven scripts.

"We are looking for relatable and content-driven scripts which are very true to the regions. Our films should not be unusual, they should be true to the region from where they come and they should show their culture and the authenticity of that region," Madhu said.

"Sarvann" is co-produced by Deepshikha Deshmukh of Pooja Films.
