Shenaz Treasurywala didn't want to do 'bad roles'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 07 Dec, 2014 02:09 PM
  • Shenaz Treasurywala didn't want to do 'bad roles'
Shenaz Treasurywala, who last featured in the 2011 Bollywood sex comedy "Delhi Belly", will now be seen in "Main Aur Mr. Right" and the actress says bad roles kept her away from the big screen for so long.

Asked why she took so long to do a film post "Delhi Belly", she said: "Very bad roles were coming my way and I didn't want to do them. Hence, I was doing small films like 'Delhi Belly' where though the footage wasn't long, the role was good".

The "Ishq Vishk" actress was busy doing a US TV show called "One Life to Live" and a travel show titled "Culture Shock".

"Currently, I am doing a show in the US called 'Brown Nation' in which I am representing India and I am also acting in a show for Comedy Central in the US. I got back to Hindi films when I got 'Main Aur Mr. Right', which is a new, fresh and exciting romantic comedy," said the former video jockey.

Directed by Adeeb Rasis, the film is slated for Dec 12 release.

Talking about her role in the film, she said: "I play Aliya, a perfectionist who is waiting for her Mr. Right to complement her. She meets Sukhi (played by Barun Sobti), a struggling actor with a reckless personality ... and the film explores the complex dynamics of their relationship in a humorous way. I try to make Sukhi the perfect guy for myself."
