Yami Gautam Shares Her Experience Of Working With Pulkit Samrat

Darpan News Desk IANS, 21 Jun, 2016 11:25 AM
Actress Yami Gautam, who will soon be seen in Junooniyat, said that she is very happy with her role in the film.

"My character really attracted me because it's very much unlike my previous films. People are telling me that they never knew that I can sing, dance and talk much.

I was very happy playing this part because the moment I heard that it's a love story and that also with an Army guy, I thought it's going to be interesting because I believe in love. I am very much like other girls who have a fascination for defence men," Yami told.

Yami said that she and Pulkit signed both Sanam Re and Junooniyat around the same time and shooting also began one after the other.

"We worked simultaneously on both the films. We signed both the films around the same time. It was almost a year that we were shooting together. It was a very good experience of working with Pulkit. He is one of those actors, who will give you your space. He is spontaneous," said Yami.

But the 27-year-old actress recalled that she had to train herself to match her steps with Pulkit.

"We all know what a fabulous dancer he is and that added a lot of work on me. And now, when people are saying that I danced well, I give the whole credit to Pulkit. It's a blessing to have a good co-actor. Your work is not going to come out in a better way if your co-actor is not co-operative," said Yami.

Yami made her debut in Bollywood with Shoojit Sircar's film Vicky Donor opposite Ayushmann Khurrana followed by films like Badlapur.

Yami said that she keeps trying different genres.

"My choice is a mix of everything. I did Badlapur because I wanted to work with Sriram Raghavan and I wanted to be a part of a film which is different for people to watch. Apart from that, I am not bothered about the length of my role. I keep pushing myself in terms of genre," said Yami.
