“Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch and theatre director Sophie Hunter, who married earlier this year on Valentine's Day, have welcomed their first child together, a boy.

“Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son,” said a spokesman for the couple, reports dailymail.co.uk.

“We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during these next few precious weeks,” the spokesperson added.

The name of the couple's son has not yet been revealed.

The 38-year-old's representative announced Hunter's pregnancy in January, two months after the pair got engaged. The duo got married in a private wedding ceremony on February 14.
