Harrison Ford Recovering 'Remarkably' After Plane Crash

Darpan News Desk IANS, 02 Apr, 2015 12:33 PM
Harrison Ford, 72, is back home and recovering "remarkably" from the injuries he sustained in a plane crash on March 5, the actor's friend and producer Frank Marshall told Variety magazine.

Ford had to make an improvised crash-landing at a golf course near the Santa Monica Airport shortly after takeoff, when his plane lost power in the engine.

The actor, known for his roles in the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" franchises, was hospitalised after the accident and underwent surgery for a broken ankle and pelvis, according to several media reports.

"I talked to him yesterday (Tuesday) and he's doing really well. He's pretty banged up, but he's recovering remarkably. He wants to play tennis," said Marshall, producer of the "Indiana Jones" saga, on Wednesday.

"He's a really good pilot. He made an incredible landing, to his credit. He is, after all, Indiana Jones," the producer added.
