Personal Loss Helped Lily James For 'Cinderella'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 24 Mar, 2015 12:24 PM
“Cinderella” actress Lily James says losing her father at a young age helped her relate to the fictional character.

The actress shared the memory of losing her father and her emotional state while filming for the film, in an interview with Sunday Times Style magazine, reports mirror.co.uk.

She said she identified well with Cinderella because her own father died while she was young, after battling cancer.

James said: "I had a scene where I was told my dad had died, so it was really hard, but I feel what's important in the film is that 'Cinderella' gains strength from her loss and that was something I could... That was in me."
