Evergreen Cultural Centre presents Centurions

Evergreen Cultural Centre21 Aug '19 to 22 Aug '19 @ 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

CENTURIONS, THE SCRIPT: 18 year old Mark is held in a police station and interrogated about a violent crime. He holds his story close, but his secrets are unearthed and illuminated for the audience via his memories, imagination and films. It becomes clear that the crime he’s accused of committing is intertwined with another violent act – a rape - and his obsession with making films. Digital video production, live feed and pre-recorded, are integral to the premise, conflict, and mystery at the heart of Centurions.

THE CENTURIONS PROJECT brings Sally Stubbs’ play Centurions to life in a collaborative process involving youth and professional artist-mentors. Centurions is an un-sanitized exploration of complex human issues related to friendship, love, sexual violence, silence and our escalating relationship with technology. A critical component of the project is the prompting of discussion about these issues.

RUN TIME: 80 MINUTES. No intermission.
    Suggested age: 14+

Live music by Scalawag each night at 6pm.
