Pole Dancing workshop this weekend

The Vancouver Convention Centre03 Feb '17 to 05 Feb '17 @ 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Pole Dancing workshop this weekend
Most adults recognize pole dancing is synonymous with sexy and therefore commonly thought of restricted to those who can dance in two-piece bikinis and three-inch heels. However organizers of Vancouver’s TABOO Naughty but Nice Sex Show, coming to Vancouver February 3-5 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, can tell you that pole dancing is now a recognized sport continuing to grow in popularity.

“We have men and women, of all shapes and sizes and varying abilities, who just want to try pole dancing because they have heard it’s a great way to get in shape and a lot of fun,” says Show Director Terra Connors.  “The preconceptions and barriers about it from years gone by have been broken. Any adult interested in fitness should at least consider the sport of pole dancing.”

Vancouverite and Tantra Fitness owner Tammy Morris whose facility is famous for people trying pole dancing for the first time explains it is a sport that gives you an intense workout but also a sense of accomplishment, “because participants can progress as pole dancers quite quickly.”

Tantra Fitness is once again hosting their popular Miss Pole Dance Taboo at this year’s show. “Competitors show off not only their sexy side, but also their athletic ability as they compete for the title,” Morris continues. “It is wonderful to see all body-types and expertise levels feel comfortable to perform for the TABOO crowd. This is one of the wonderful reasons this inclusive and body positive show is so popular year after year.”
